Financial Aid & Student Charging


Financial aid and student charging are available each semester:


  • Fall semester: August 1 – second Friday of the semester
  • Spring semester: December 1 – second Friday of the semester
  • Summer session: May 1 – second Friday of the term

Financial Aid Charging

Students with an overage of grants and loans can add up to $700 of College Store purchases to their student bill. Items that can be added to student bill are:


  • Textbooks and course materials
  • School supplies and backpacks
  • Minneapolis College apparel and gifts
  • Metro Transit semester pass
  • Prepaid parking
  • Other essentials

Grants and loans will be used to pay for these purchases prior to disbursement.

Student Charging

Students without available grants and loans can add up to $300 in purchases of textbooks, required kits, and school supplies to their student bill. Students will be responsible for paying for these purchases along with their tuition and fees. Student charging cannot be used to purchase apparel, gifts, Metro Transit passes, or other non-required items.

How to Use Financial Aid or Student Charge

  • In-store: Show the cashier your Minneapolis College Campus Card or your 8-number student ID (example: 18273645) and a valid photo ID.
  • Online: At checkout, select Student Charging as the payment method and enter your 8-number student ID.
  • Your student ID can be found on your Campus Card or in the upper right corner of eServices.
